Dining and Activity Centers
Having good, nutritious meals are importation. However, our meal sites provide more than just meals. At the NU-HOPE Senior Meal and Activity Centers, seniors have the opportunity to enjoy exercise and art classes, play games, get tips as to how to improve nutrition, and – most importantly – have an opportunity to socialize and meet other people.
Perhaps Mary said it best: “Because of NU-HOPE, I have a place to go to be with people like me. I don’t have to be home with no one to talk to. It helps my state of mind. The staff is friendly. They are there when I need them. They are like family. I thank God for them.”
Centers are open Monday-Friday and typically serve both breakfast and lunch. Most sites close shortly after lunch, although specific hours vary by location. Transportation to and from the centers may also be available.
Pre-registration is required. People may sign up for all five days or for only a few days each week.
There is no fee for the meals, activities, or transportation. However, donations are encouraged. These donations help us expand access to these services to others.
